Shoots app for iPhone and iPad

Always wanted your own tree? Now you can with "Shoots", Singapores first community-initiated iPhone app that encourages YOUths to visit, love and protect our parks in Singapore!

Developed by youth grassroots organisation Telok Blangah Community Club Youth Club in partnership with South West Community Development Council and corporate sponsors Thinking Designs and Thinking Apps, "Shoots" allows you to "adopt and grow" on your iPhone one of five real tree saplings growing in real life in Telok Blangah Hill Park in Singapore.

Read about each of the five trees, then select your favourite to "adopt". Bring on the sunshine, or water it with tropical rain, or give it some love and care. Whatever you do for your "adopted" sapling, a message encouraging positive social behaviour in the park pops up. When you leave your sapling alone, after some time, it will turn weak and unhealthy, or worse – you may find nasty things on it! But once you bring it sunshine, rain or love, it will liven up again! Over time, under your constant care and attention, your sapling will grow into a tall tree and flower – just like in real life!
